Tahoe Buoy and Mooring Service
Fishing Lake Tahoe is a lot of fun. By far boat fishing is the way to go. Some of the greatest information on catching fish in Tahoe are from the fishing charter around the lake. The sporting shops that handle fishing gear are a great source of information plus the equipment to make it happen. The lake has Mackinaw (Lake Trout), Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Kokanee Salmon.
Here are a couple of sporting stores on the South Shore that can give you information on fishing Lake Tahoe. Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters and The Sportsman, 2556 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 (530) 542-3474
I have never heard a bad thing about the fishing charters around the lake. These owners of the boats want you to have a great time and catch fish. Hopefully a big one. One the South Shore Tahoe Sport Fishing Company, Mile High Fishing Charters , Lake Tahoe Fishing, and on the North Shore, Mickey’s Big Mack Lake Tahoe Fishing Charters & Tours
If you know about where people can get more information on fishing Tahoe e-mail us and we well try to post it on this page.

All BoatU.S. study materials and the exam are free of charge and are accessible for online viewing at any time. Upon successful completion of the final exam, you may print your Certificate of Completion on your printer at no charge. This certificate is accepted as proof of course completion by the states that accept the course. Certain states require that a copy of your certificate be mailed to the state’s boating agency for processing and issuance of a permanent state boating card. States may charge for this service. For more information on costs and procedures to obtain a state-issued boating card, please visit your state’s boating webpage.
If you prefer, you may choose to have an optional paper copy mailed to you for a $5 fee. The mailed certificate is printed on certificate stock and is suitable for framing, but otherwise is no different than the free print-at-home version, and it is not the same card that is issued by the state.

As for your boat at the beginning of the season you check the oil level, make sure the hoses are hook up, battery charge, fill the gas tank and start her up to make sure that everything is working. Or better yet get someone else qualified to do it for you. Now you make sure that the boat insurance is up to date. If you are like a lot of us boaters on the lake you have paid for your BoatU.S. Membership. You can beat it if your boat breaks down on the lake. They have towing and even gas if you run out. Now for the check off list!! Mandatory items that the Coast Guard requires, mooring lines not fade, anchor and don’t forget the sun block.
You get your boat to your buoy and hook it up. Time to enjoy the beautiful summer at Lake Tahoe. No other lake can compare to Lake Tahoe for beauty and clear water. Mean while over the years your mooring chain, tackle and buoy have been wearing. You really don’t think about it but it is happening all year long. Your mooring is one of the most important pieces of boating equipment in the water. Some things for you should think about.
Is your mooring sized for your boat? You would be surprise how many moorings that are not suited for the sized of the boat. Can your mooring handle the storm conditions? What level of wear is on the components of your mooring?
